Did you know that 97% of all people that start a home based business fail!
You’re probably thinking to yourself “ohh $#@%”. haha well i did too when i heard that stat. And the reason that so many people fail is that they don’t understand the psychology of attraction. Don’t worry, this is not something you need a phd for, its very simple to understand and knowing this will make a gigantic change in your business.
I guarantee it…..
If you are in network marketing or any type of online business for that matter you are in the selling business. You could be selling your company’s 3500$ cash gifting level, you could be selling a 47$ clickbank e-book, or you could even be selling vitamins. Whatever it may be the principle doesn’t change.
You only buy after you receive value and trust
Let me break this down for you. Let’s say you were in the market for a product on how to loose weight. You have two options, a 37$ e-book you saw on google or what your uncle recommended because it worked for him……
I’m going to bet you picked your uncle’s product. But if you break this down into why you picked your uncle’s products it’s because…
you trust your uncle
Well as internet marketers we have to make our potential customers (or our leads) feel trusted.
But how do we do this……?
By giving valuable content without expecting anything in return. (This builds a relationship)
You see, what 97% of all people in a network marketing business do is pitch their opportunity to random people; whether that be on facebook, youtube, or offline. However the people getting pitched to have no relationship with the person doing the pitching (or more commonly referred to as a SPAMMER) If the spammer had first built a relationship with thier customer then there would be trust which means money.
Not only that, but putting up great content on a consistent basis makes you look like the guru. If a prospect is already sold on the idea of joining your opportunity but he doesn’t know which sponsor to go with, which one do you think he will pick. The guy who spammed him or the guy who gave him great tools on how to build his business? I won’t even answer that one…..
Some great examples of giving value would be using an email marketing system to deliver great content every single day. Or putting up a youtube video on how to generate leads with craigslist. Or a facebook note that tells people how to increase conversions on their lead capture page, Or a blog post that could possibly change someones business forever (cough cough) haha. However the purpose of this post isn’t to show you how to give value (i’ll do that in a later post, and if you really want you could just check out my betternetworker profile and facebook page to see how i do it).
But the bottom line is if you give value without expecting anything in return you will start to form relationships with people. These people will then start to trust you which means when you do present your business opportunity, the sale is easier than cutting through butter with a hot knife. haha.
This is how attracting people works!
Guys i really hope you use what i said this post if you are not already. It’s probably the most important thing i could ever tell you and it’s how all the big dogs sign up hundreds of people a month.

Nice post. Very good explanation for building a good customer relationship. However, when should a business start charging the customer?

@Aniruddha Well it definitely varies. If you are directing people from facebook or another social media site where you self brand yourself and build relationships then you could probably sell your product/service in as little as a week. (which is what i highly recommend). However if you are using google adwords and are just using a straight up lead capture page i would say probably 2-3 weeks because it would take about that long for you to get a lot of great content to them.

Thanks very much for the tips man. You’re 16, the same age as me right? Looks like we’re both on the same track tbh but it proves that you can never be too young to profit
We can discuss more ideas on Facebook.

Really nice article but I would like to point out that 97 % of people don’t fail but quit.
November 30th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
this is very true, but that’s because they don’t find success fast enough. I mean if you look at it like that than no one in the world has ever failed at anything, they’ve just not succeeded quick enough.
But thanks a lot! i appreciate the feedback!
